Project Overview
I created this Instructor-Led Training (ILT) to train educators how to determine essential outcomes in social studies courses. Many social studies educators feel overwhelmed by the amount of content they need to cover in a single school year. Using essential outcomes allows educators to focus their curriculum and assessments on what is most important for students to master. I led this training while working for Leander ISD as a 45 minute break-out session during a professional development workshop for social studies teachers. I based the information on Solution Tree's PLC at Work Institute, Learning by Doing, 3rd Edition by Richard DuFour, Rebecca DuFour, Robert Eaker, Thomas W. Many, and Mike Mattos, and It's About Time by Mike Mattos and Austin Buffum.
This training includes a slide deck, facilitator guide, participant guide, and job aid (an infographic). I created these resources using Canva and created mock-ups using screenshot of real-world resources I used as an educator.
