Overview

My husband, Danny, and I co-created this YouTube video series for my students while I was an educator. Since its inception in August 2018, the YouTube channel has more than 450,000 views and 4,000 subscribers.

The channel focuses on the early American history instruction. To create these videos, I researched the topic and wrote the scripts. Then, Danny filmed me in the videos, edited them, and added motion graphics. I assisted in selecting visuals that were relevant to the course material and worked with Danny check the videos before the final cuts were uploaded to YouTube.

During instruction, I would assign these videos to students to preview the course material. I used a web-based app, EdPuzzle, to add comprehension questions throughout the video. This allowed me to gather data to verify the effectiveness of the videos by monitoring learners' progress and understanding of the course material.
